This is a newly created job involving the initiation and early operations of a new business unit within Cordis. The Cordis OEM unit will provide medical device components to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) utilizing Cordis advance polymer extrusion technologies and manufacturing capabilities.
This position will be based in Miami Lakes, FL and will require being onsite 3 days a week.
The Sr. Manager / Manager will support all aspects of the business including:
Support of early business models to estimate operating expenses, staffing, and product sales for the unit.
Creation of business unit operating plans and budgets.
Implementation of business workflows for processing customer requests, quotation, order fulfillment and invoicing.
Generation of business reports capturing key business metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Work closely with General Manager and VP of Sales to coordinate business unit weekly standing meetings.
This leader will actively manage scope, schedule, resourcing, risk management, change management, and budget to ensure the business unit objectives stays on track.
This role will work in close coordination with functions including Finance, Marketing, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
Define the scope and roadmap for the specific project; partnering with all interdependent functions.
Execute an effective governance process to track progress and report out to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Implement effective change management to ensure key stakeholders are onboard with the work and brought along.
Work with key stakeholders to define relevant functional 3-5 year strategy plans.
Measure value capture of the business unit.
In addition to project leadership, provide a strategic viewpoint on the process, potential improvements, and areas of opportunity.
Predict risk factors and mitigate them for successful completion of program objectives.
Influence teammates and leaders who do not have direct reporting relationships.
Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills and abilities)
Proven leadership and ability to influence a business transformation and large-scale program management.
Strong project / program management skillset, including scoping, execution / tracking, metrics, risk mitigation, stakeholder management, and change management.
Ability to create and gain buy-in for business cases and value creation and see through to realization.
Strong ability to communicate at the executive level.
Ability to work across regions, divisions and functions to influence change across the organization.
Is visible to Executive team in driving transformation.
Provide direction and scope guardrails to workstream leaders.
Ability to resolve cross team conflicts.
Exceptional teaming & collaboration both internally & externally.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
Ideal background is either 4-6+ years of work experience in Consulting or Banking fields OR 2-4 years of general business unit operations experience
Title will be variable based on work experience and background (Senior Manager/Manager).
Strong technical education (i.e., operations, engineering, program management, finance, etc.)
BS required, MBA a plus
Must have Project management experience (PMP certification a plus)
Medical Device experience a plus
Hybrid work environment (on-site 3 days)
